Windscreen attachment question

Would really appreciate some help...

Had my 2016 2 litre Tourer for a few weeks now and whilst I love it, I had a small piece of plastic fall off what looks like a sensor stuck to the windscreen to the left of the interior mirror...

Seems like there should be some little black plastic tabs that hold it on covering the sensor plus there's a taped off connector hanging down along side it.

Pictures say a thousand words so have attached, would greatly appreciate any knowledgeable person telling me exactly what I'm dealing with, I will need a new cover I guess but whats the taped off wire for or is it a trip to the local dealership ?

Probably say the cable was for a dash cam.

Thanks, does that mean a dash cam was a factory option back then ?

No.

Most cash cams are either third party fit, owner fit or dealer fit.

Not sure what the other thing is.

The plastic is a 'rain sensor cover' !

Thanks for your response
