2018 Aygo issue with instrument cluster

Here's one for the brains trust

My daughter has a 2018 Aygo and although everything seems to be working on the cluster , the mileage is not increasing.

It has been like that since she bought the car second hand.

I believe the car has had a bump and been repaired by previous owner , but not sure how bad or what he has done.

would like to be able to correct this issue so that it shows the correct mileage , and works of course.

As a very basic thing to try maybe disconnect the Battery for some time and see if that does a reset of the system.Worth a try.
