Engine Oil query.

Hi there, I've had my MK1 Avensis for a few weeks now, and have done over 1000 miles (currently 66200). It had an oil service right before I bought it, and I've been checking the dipstick regularly. However, the oil has been sitting at the same point since I bought it (just slightly above the second dot). Obviously, I am happy it hasn't used any up, but I'm a bit skeptical since these engines are renowned to drink engine oil. Is the dipstick faulty by any chance or am I just lucky?

Maybe it hasn't developed the oil burning issue, 66k is quite low.
