Just a quick question ..I have 2007 Aygo and wondered if it is worth putting redex in ? Would it make any difference or cause any issues ?thanks in advance for any advice

IMO, better off putting in some premium fuel (Shell V power, as an example) and using that instead. They can have additives in which help to keep the fuel system & engine internals cleaner, better emissions etc.

Redex it’s fine as added when using supermarket fuels which are best to be avoided together with any cheaper garages.
The reason why some places sell fuels cheaper is because of these- additives package or lack of it.
Best practices as mentor is to fill up premium fuels from top tier brands like bp, Shell, esso, and if you want to achieve something particular like cleaning the injectors or catalytic converter, then use wynns additives, these are one of the best and they actually work. 👍

If doing it this way would I need to use the premium fuel all the time?  Or is it safe to switch between ? I only asked as I saw some redex in Aldi and remember using it many years ago in another car I had and wondered if it would be okay in the Aygo .

Yes I just thought it would be a good idea to give her a clean through but wasn't sure if it would be beneficial or just waste of money

You can use and mix any petrol from any garage . You can also fill up from Asda or other similar places , however try not to and not entirely.
You can use redex but these aren’t actually the specialist additives that can work a magic and in many ways people call them snake oils.
If you have any trouble with fuel system use wynns injector cleaner, that’s what professionals use . Any other time just fill up esso and if you aren’t about to put premium e5 97 all the times you can mix in between, one fill up full with e5 97 , then when half tank refill with esso e10 95 regular. Then refill with e5 97 again. This is best practice for quality/price ratio and trouble free motoring. 👍

Quite often supermarkets have Redex for around £2.50 a bottle (two treatments) - around here Tesco and Asda. So if you can get a bottle for this price, probably be worth a go, and then use more premium fuels (BP, Esso, Shell, Texaco, etc) depending on costs where you are.

This is the offer the I saw which is what made me consider it. 2 x 250ml bottles for 4.99 Aldi

I used to put in a tank of V-Power diesel in my old Yaris D4D every 4-5 tanks, as I wasn't always getting a good hard motorway run in and could feel the car loosing power slightly over time due to the injectors crudding up with deposits.

In petrols, esp carb/port-injected, it tends to be less needed as they burn much more cleanly, but over time deposits still build up so it's still worth throwing a tank of Shell V-Power/Esso Supreme/BP Ultimate/etc. or some Redex or equivalent in every now and then.

At the moment with my hybrid Yaris I still tend to put in a tank of BP Ultimate or some such but much less frequently, maybe every few months. (I stopped using V-Power as the car feels just as rough as it does with normal supermarket fuel, but I've found BP Ultimate and Jet fuels noticeably smoother)

Back when I used to drove 2005 Renault Clio, I used to stock up Redex and put in half a bottle whenever I fill up the tank.  The reason being fuel economy,  Whenever I use that stuff, I see my mpg goes up by 1 to 3.

As for the Toyota Aygo, I found there are no difference before and after. Therefore I stop using it.

Does it make the injector happier?  I certainly couldn't feel the difference with or without.

On the other hand, I do notice a big difference when I added Liqui Moly 1803 injection cleaner on my 2012 Aygo.  I can actually feel the whole engine got smoother with less vibration.

So if you want to treats the car, try Liqui Moly or fill up a tank of Premium every once in a while.

(BTW, I uses mostly Shell & BP.  On occasion, I use Esso.)
