Toyota Promotional £250 Charging Credit

Recommended Posts

Posted

Did anyone buy their new Toyota during the promotion, running from June 24 where they were offering a few incentives, one of which was £250 charging credit? We are having trouble getting this from Toyota. The staff in the showroom were rather vague and no definite answers being given. Any hints or tips would be much appreciated.

Looks like the terms and conditions are no longer on Toyota's website.

I'd use the 'contact us' link on the following to query with Toyota GB: https://www.toyota.co.uk/help-centre

I looked at that but none of the categories seemed to fit. Thanks thou

Extract from the link:

"Free home wallbox and up to £500 public charging credit

In addition to the £1,000 Power of Choice voucher, customers buying a plug-in hybrid or electric car during the June event will benefit from a free Toyota HomeCharge EV charger, including standard installation, plus up to £500 credit to use across the Toyota Charging Network of public charge points (£250 credit for plug-in hybrid models; £500 for electric cars)."

Toyota also offer a contribution of £2500 to your personal deposit if you choose PCP.

I am having trouble getting the free £250 worth of vouchers promised by Toyota if you purchase a CHR PHEV before end of Sept 2024. I have been in touch with Toyota through X and two weeks go and am  still waiting for the promised email with enclosed attachments  which presumably are printable vouchers who knows.

Hi, yes we got the other promotion. I contacted my dealership last week again about the 250, they are pretty vague and don't really appear to have any knowledge about it. However she contacted the "Toyota factory" who said there is a delay with the £250 credit being issued and I should have recieved an email sent regarding the delay, there wasn't.

I might try X now myself. I'll keep you posted. To add to the frustration the free EV charger is taking 8 weeks before installation. Only 4 weeks to go..

Somehow I got locked out of my account and they wouldn't let me back in so I've had to make this new account. Anyways, just to let you know at long last, after threatening them with legal action I received the £250 charging credit. 🥳🥳

Just need to find a working pod to use it now.

Ellie how did you manage that ?  congrats anyway. Who did  you threaten with legal action the dealer or Toyota ?  When did you put your order in ? I probably missed the boat having ordered the CHR PHEV  in the 2nd week of August.

I have no idea what the pod situation is in bonnie Scotland but we are OK in South Lincolnshire. There are some in most supermarkets and parking lots governed by your local  council.

Thanks Louie.I sent an email to the CEO which he ignored so then I tried customer service, gave them 2 weeks and low and behold it arrived.

I picked the car up and in July, think it was ordered end of June.

I have one local EV pod in Aldi but I've only managed to get it working once. Now I've got the credit I'll try again. It's great having the home charger though, isn't it?

Car's going in for it's recalls in a couple of weeks and as it's an all day job I have to pay £20 for their hire car. The service desk told me to take this up with Toyota directly but I'm not sure I can even be bothered moaning about it but it's not great customer service.

It is the dealers who supply the courtesy cars, and the charge is probably for insurance. This type of arrangement isn't confined to Toyota dealers.

Fair enough, but he didn't specify it was for insurance. They should cover it when it's going in through no fault of my own. I would have been happy sitting there waiting but unfortunately they need the car all day and I think they'd get sick of looking at me.

Hi Ellie power to you. In my view this is just taking the mickey though I could use stronger wording.  As far as I am concerned you have been inconvenienced because the car has been subject to a recall and not a regular service and the least the dealer could have done is  lent you a "loaner". If the dealer can't be bothered at least Toyota should have borne the cost.  This is not the way to look after your loyal customers.

The home charger is a huge money saver. I charge three times a week (Octopus Go)and our monthly CHR PHEV running costs are about £15 a month which is about 80-90 miles a week. . This has to be the cheapest vehicle  in running costs I  have ever owned unless the Battery blows up.

When our IQ went in for a recall, we had to take a courtesy car where we had to pay for insurance cover, around 16-20£ for a day or two, as they are doing a recall and the dealership is doing a job that can cost several hundreds, I'm not going to say no to paying £20 for a courtesy car.
