Hi all,

I have recently taken over use of my sisters 2022 Corolla. I have noticed that the parking sensors aren’t making any sounds when I’m close to a car, parking / reversing. I had this in the CHR I used to have, and would be surprised if my Corolla didn’t have this function. I definitely need it for parking as the sound / beeps help me out. I have tried playing around with the dashboard using the controls on the wheel, but I have had no success. If anyone knows how I might be able to get the sounds working, please let me know. Also to mention, the reverse camera working perfectly!

It may not have them. I have a Corolla saloon and the parking sensors are only on the top trim level (Sol).

I was going to ask what the spec is.

I think all the Corolla's have front and rear sensors

UK, yes. This appears to be southern  Ireland so possibly different spec.

Are the sensors visible in the bumpers?

This is taken from  Oct '21 brochure. Icon, base model does not have sensors as standard  equipment. Guess the Irish spec base 'Luna' is the same.

Failing that and it is not a base model, have they been switched off in the meter settings?Screenshot_20240811_212355_Drive.thumb.jpg.d078a57b1e4b0917ee7199550f035de4.jpg

I had a look at the car but I can’t see the sensors but I know they aren’t always the little round shape that are on other Toyotas. I would imagine it does have them, an older CHR I had, had the sensors noise so I would imagine this corolla does too!

@Corolla Mike. thank you for this screenshot! I will try and figure out what model this is. It doesn’t help the manual is also no longer in the car!

Check your wheels. (or post a pic of them)

For Irish trims the wheels were ......

Luna came with 16'' plain alloys.
Luna Sport came with 17'' fancy alloys.
Sol came with 18'' fancier alloys.

Should be a Badge next to the Corolla Badge on the rear of the car which states which trim level it is. Or as Chippy suggested a picture of the alloys would also indicate the trim level.

I have just had a look and it is the Luna sport!

Think the dealer will be able to fit some accessory sensors for you, worth a call.

I've had accessory sensors fitted to a Honda I used to own, they can do a good job with aftermarket and can get it almost looking like they were factory fitted.

You don't usually get it wired into the main dash display, but you get the beeps through a separate speaker. There are also ones with a separate distance display available too.

They don't seem to do that anymore - My Mk1 had a T-Spirit Badge stuck on it but there's nothing on my Mk4 that indicates what trim it is, just that it's a Hybrid, and the newer ones don't even get that now, just a HEV Badge!
