Avensis Dcat 2010

Hi everyone

just looking for help regarding my Toyota Avensis Dcat , seem to have a diesel smell which has been diagnosed as normal for my model !

my Nephew noticed that underneath the wheel arch where filler is , it’s wet with diesel and has soaked into something like a lining and has swollen and pushed the bumper out

so I’m not sure what to believe now , has anyone come across this before? And do I have a leak ? Or is it a case of overfill ?
many thanks

Maybe the tank cap seal is broken or worn?

I once had an Avensis T27 diesel stw and it  occasionally leaked out from the cap if the tank was full. I discovered that the cap had to be turned a little more than the click indicates, then it was tight...

Is the side of the car wet outside or just wheel arc inside?

If just inside, there may be a leak a top of the filling pipe?

Is there any pressure when opening the cap?

A smaller pipe (overflow pipe?) coming from the upper end of the filling pipe. Would it be broken?Täyttöputki, polttoainetankki NTY
