I've just order a new RAV4 PHEV Design with 18" wheels and noticed that most of them seem to come with this tyre.

Whats the opinion of the tyre amongst those who have a RAV4 with the same please?

There seems to be pretty mixed reviews on the WWW

Mine has these exact tyres. They're ok at best and certainly not the best for grip, comfort or economy. When mine are worn down I am going to get Goodyear Efficient Grip SUV 2 tyres fitted (unless theres a newer version by then).

Many on here will swear by Cross Climate 2s which are no doubt great but I dont want to sacrifice overall grip/wear in non cold weather for the boost in snowy weather. I work remotely so will never need to travel if it snows.

tyrereviews.com is an ok website for reviews but the layout is absolutely terrible. I use the american tirerack.com as an extra source of information.

As I was winding my way home last night, driving a little more enthusiastically than usual, I was really impressed with the way my Cross Climates hang on in the corners - my RAV4 feels very sure footed both summer and winter.

Modern all-season tyres (with 3PMS symbol) really do suit that RAV4. They are better and more comfortable than the tyres fitted as stock. The Grandtreks would probably give a longer life if you are a road warrior.

So, I am one who swears by Cross Climates though I freely admit that there may be 'better' alternative all-season tyres available now (where 'better' is a relative term since they are all perfectly good).

And, as jack says, if you are prepared to stay off the road in cold weather, summer tyres will do perfectly well (if not 'better' in the summer). I live up a hill in Wales so appreciate the reassurance of an all-season tyre - it saves me fitting full cold weather tyres! 😉

When the current Rav4 came out, they were mostly fitted with Dunlop Grandtrek PT30's (made by Sumitomo who own the Dunlop brand in Asia), and UK supplies were difficult. Looks like Toyota are now using  'Goodyear' (who own the Dunlop brand in Europe) Dunlop Grandtrek ST30's.

I may be a tad behind with the specs but I can't say I've seen the Goodyear fitted, mine and other I've seen come with Yokohama AVID GT  Blue Earth🤔

Depending where you live and how you drive your rav4 tyres like v shaped all season males a lot of sense. These are proper all seasons tyres perfect companion on any suv car. They only will lose against proper summer tyres when compared on motorways drives , as summer tyres has lower rolling resistance 3-5mpg more, and shorter braking distance in dry and wet.
For people who live in London or other bog cities perhaps Goodyear efficient grip suv 2 are the very best choice but for those who live remote or in the north all seasons are the must.

Mine came fitted with Grandtrek PT30's  (which were replaced before the car left the dealer's forecourt 😉 ) but that was back in 2020. Toyota will fit a Japanese made (or at least Asian) quality tyre that delivers good economy (to meet their WLTP commitments) and that are available to Toyota at a good price. So, whether it is Dunlop, Yokohama, Bridgestone or someone else will depend on cost price at the time of production.

It is very unlikely that the car will be delivered on European made Grandtrek ST30's - rather these are the tyres that folk swap to when their PT30's wear out ... I suspect ...

My ‘21 PHEV came with Yokohama AVID GT  Blue Earth, they have been surprisingly good but I will be changing them soon for CC’s. (Another fan of this tyre having used then on a number of previous cars with great success)

My 2023 Rav came with 19" Bridgestone alenza 001 on a AWD model.

With strict 5000m tyre rotation im currently on 33K and tyres got another 15k easy...  more than likely get ready for new set towards the winter season....

Even on the 2WD, tyre rotation is a must...

+1 👍

This is the best practice and common in many countries around the world.
You get the best safety performance and long life from your tyres and last but not least replace all 4 tyres at the same time. 👌🛞
