Hello. Probably that topic is already discussed but I want to ask owners of such a car about the wheel size, comfort, fuel consumption, handling etc. My D4D Icon has a 15’ wheel size and 175/65/16 tyres. The same engine car but the Design model is with 16’ wheels and 195/50/16 tyres. My question is what is the fuel consumption with 16’ inches and the comfort? Now with my 15, combined driving is around 60 mpg. I suppose if I move to 16, it will affect that value down.

The difference between wheel sizes and different type of tyres like summer, winter or all seasons is usually  between 3-5 mpg.

It also depends on types of journey - For mostly motorway runs, the higher rotational inertia of bigger rims will have virtually no effect, but lots of stop-start will show a greater impact as the engine and brakes have to put more effort in to spin the wheels and to stop them.

Sounds logically

195mm will give you better handing and braking ability. I found the 175mm pants for cornering on the mk3 hybrid.

Speedo will be slightly affected. Know of a 17" wheel user that went from a 205 to a 215 and the speedo was -3 mph and went to 0 mph difference.

Anyone with the same car with 16-inch rims, to share direct experience?

Gyes, does anybody know to tell me the proper pressure of tyres size 195/50/16? I found so contradictional information even in Toyota’s tyre guide, where such a size doesn't exist….On the other hand, it is a standard in other models as Design for example. In addition, I have a TPMS light on the dashboard which I can’t turn off, no matter what I do to reset the system. When I picked up the car after the wheel’s replacement the tyres were with 2.5 bar all of them. Then when the light came up, I did some research to fix the issue and couldn't find even in official Toyota statements, what is the exact pressure of these tyres. Then on another website, I found out that they have to be 2.2 bar. I did them to 2.2 bars, but nothing helped. The light is still on the dashboard and I don't know what to do to remove it. So that is the question. Appreciate any help. Thank you.

Did you change 15" rims for 16" rims?

Did they put the TPMS sensors back on the new rims? If they didn't, then that's why it's complaining and the light is on. Otherwise

You will won't believe what happened. I connected the car to one car diagnostic via OBD, and since I started reading possible errors, the TPMS light disappeared from the dashboard. Then I drove the car and the thlight didn't appear anymore. Tonight I have a trip to a close city, will see whether the light will show up or not. The tyre pressures are now 32 psi front, 30 back.
