Howdy all,

Im wanting to fit a sub and possibly an amp into my 02' plate Yaris SR, does anybody know if this is possible using the standard toyota radio/cd head unit?

I ask because i saw in my accessories leaflet that came with the car that toyota offer a sub as an option, so, are the connectors there?

Also, how would an amp be used?

(Im new to this upgrading business... especially since my last car was a Daewoo Matiz!)

Thanks in advance!

hi mate and welcome

its easy to fit an amp and sub to your existing system

all you need is an amp capable of utalising high level inputs (which is most of them these days) or by the use of a high leve to RCA converter

simple really and then you just wire up as a normal sub and amp

also if you after some good bass then an aftermarket set of kit will be far better than using a Toyota Active sub, they are ok but only add minor depth to the OE system

your not going to get superior earthquake starting bass with that

Thanks for that... very helpful!

Im guessing the connectors are just behind the dash? I dont have to start taking the dash apart do i? Beacuse the last time i did that in my matiz for a new head unit... i needed half a new dash! (Excuse: "The screwdriver slipped... woops")

yes bud you have to break into the dash (not literally)
