My 22 plates connected services were all working fine. Halfway to work this morning I noted that it stopped displaying album art, and the DCM icon was grayed out. I tried resetting the head unit but no change. On way home it was not grayed out but stuck on 1 bar and nothing connected worked. After 10 mins it grayed out again. Is there anything I can try, or is the DCM failed.

Of note the eSOS light is green, and the blue arrow is not greyed out, if that means anything.

Did your vehicle have the DCM software update applied?

Customer satisfaction campaign letter would have been sent out last year - required a visit to a Toyota dealer for software update.

Well that's a thing.... It 'did' have, but then dealer said it hadn't. They did it again as Nd I assume it's been done. I'll check the Toyota site to see if there is an outstanding recall. It's been ok until today but occasionally I got the line across the icon for a few minutes then it went fine. I've never seen it grayed out before. Toyota site says I'm connected and verified, and connect services valid till 2027.

The connected maps certainly don't work now, as a new motorway junction on the M55 dosnt exist anymore, but it did yesterday 😞

Won't let me check for recalls. Tells me to contact the local dealer. Just tried looking in the My T app but it says it's no longer supported. I need to download a different app. Could this be the issue. I've not used the My T app for ages, didn't think much of it.

I do not know about the UK, (I am in Ireland), but when I went to use the 'My T' app about a year(?) ago, I got the message to update to the 'My Toyota' app. If I remember correctly, I had to delete the 'My T' app.

I've never really used the MyT app, didn't find it if any use. It never affected connected services. Yesterday it appeared to start working for about 5 mins then gave up, although the new junction reappeared on the maps going to work, coming back it has gone again. Trying to login to my profile just says no internet connection. I suspect it goosed. Booked in at dealer in a week!!. I've now just got a dumb media unit

Just a thought. I never use my profile, just use the guest one, as it never worked properly. The connected services were working just fine though, and I've tried selecting my profile but I get a no internet message. I thought the connected services were keyed to the car not a profile. Is there any other way to login to my profile to see if that's the issue, although I wouldn't have thought using the guest profile would cause the icon to be grayed out. It's always at 4 full bars when grayed out as well.

For some reason only known to the car gods it's started working again. Didn't work Thursday or Friday or Saturday morning, but went out this afternoon and all working again. I'll still take to the booked appointment for a diagnostic check to see if any codes got thrown. Yesterday evening it did get some kind of signal intermittently but I suspect it was, so slow as to be unusable. This morning tried connecting to my profile but it just sat on the Web browser screen even though it appears to have had signal.

Been up to the dealer this afternoon, for a diagnostic check, to find out it had been booked in for an update to the DCM as per an outstanding field notice. The same DCM upgrade that should have been applied on 2 previous occasions but wasn't. Given it was booked to have a quick diagnostic as I thought, I didnt have time to stay for the hour and a half they said it would take, so its booked in yet again for this to be applied. 

They also said some very odd things, that the connected services were nothing to do with the DCM, and something else did this, but couldn't elaborate, and that when I questioned about maps update as the base maps are very out of date, something I only noticed when connected services went down and was assured by the salesman when I purchased the car they would be updated, they said I had to do this myself via the My T app.  They couldnt do it.

I suspect the dealer is talking complete rubbish, but could anyone clarify that the DCM is the cars 4G/5G internet connection and needs this for connected services to work. All my Smart connected services are active currently and working as is the DCM currently.

Base map updates have to be downloaded via your My Toyota account & extracted to a USB memory stick before uploading to the vehicle.

I've only seen 1 X base map update rolled out so far for first gen C-HR & that which appeared around April 2023.

My dealership updated the map system FOC (still had map updates as car was only 2-3 yrs old) when I took my car in for an update on something else software related.  I think sometimes it depends who you speak to and what mood they are in that day!

My Dealer is really good. They did the first map update in my 2020 Dynamic when it went in for a service. All FOC. After that I did my own update via the My Toyota account and USB.
