Absolutely, but you need to do that with new set of wheels .
Buy alloy wheels from design spec , 16” , and good quality tyres.
This will change the ride, save some fuel, cheaper tyres too, no kerbing. , save from wheel repair in the future. Only you need to tell your insurance.

I must admit that I would have been happier with smaller wheels on my YC Premiere, however that isn't an option when you order one. Still, as I was brought up on original Minis the ride is still plusher than those.

Is the ride really that hard?

I was considering GR Sport but also considering Dynamic since they have 17" on those.

86 mm sidewall 🫣

My design is 107mm on 16", it's comfortable. YC is different tyre profile to the hatch gr sport.

Very subjective. When I did the test drive with GR Sport on 18" I was really surprised that it's not that hard that I have anticipated. Decided to get trim with 17" anyway (Selection Style version, no such version in UK but similar to Excel) and I didn't feel the difference between the demo car and mine. I also use 16" for winter set and once more I don't really feel the difference.
