I’m wanting to order a new GR Sport Touring Sports and my dealer has told me the system won’t let them order any GR sport models at present. Has anyone else had this issue?

Posted

This wasn't Vertu by any chance?

I was told by them last week that they could not order me a 2.0 TS (Excel in my case but apparently was 2.0 wide).

Another dealer has since told me that they were making changes to the CO2 ratings/spec. but I believe now sorted?

No it was Parks. I’ve since spoken to two other dealers (RRG and Lindop) who have both confirmed they can order the car for November. Parks is the dealer I always use and is my preference but it’s perplexing me a bit. I’m wanting a 2.0 GR.

Have you placed your order and do you know what changes are being made?

Posted

I have not yet placed my order but getting very close.

Best deals for me are RRG Rochdale & Snow's in Southampton (Hedge End), Macklin at Darnley said that they would match but they are the ones that said actually we can't order the car atm ...

Which Parks ?

If you want to compare our ordering process so far feel free to drop me a PM.

Ordered the same car yesterday. Apparently there was a temporary pause on orders due to the MY24 ending and the MY25 being released. Order books now back open 👍

What's the differences between model years?

Lead to believe it’s updates to emissions and software but not 100%. I don’t think there any changes to the spec or look of the car. I’ve asked the dealer so waiting for confirmation

I've seen pictures of someone with a claimed new July 24 model, that has a tiny centre infotainment screen and the dash screen is small too and has the old bars on each side for fuel and temperature.

I hope they aren't changing the spec downwards.

I've had a order open since May for a 2.0 Excel touring.  They are now claiming end of September as they havent even started to build it 😞

Icon spec has different dashboard instruments, similar to chr icon , Yaris icon and design models 2024.

No, it doesn't, at least not on MY24 Corolla TSs that I have been in. They all have the 12.3 combimeter.

Just found out that the weird dash on a 24 came from a Suzuki Swace, not an actual Corolla - even though they are basically the same car just a few differences.

For some reason the Swace has a small infotainment screen with a volume knob and a small dash screen. Not sure why they would go to the trouble of doing this, I would have thought keeping everything the same on the production line would be easier.

Perhaps it's because the Swace has a lower price - they are saying it was £4k less than the equivalent Corolla.

the Swace has no satnav & the infotainment screen is ~2" smaller.

On the other hand if you want things like blind spot monitoring etc. the Ultra is ~£4k list cheaper than an Excel.

Depends what features you value &, of course, you only have 1 engine choice.

So had update from my dealer today. Delays due to update to meet latest emissions requirements for Euro 6E. Minor increase to emissions but different to homolagated figures so everything needs updating as it has impact to benefit in kind and excise duty.

Now known as MY24.5, not MY25 and no other spec/equipment or price changes.

I ordered 8th July, originally expected for end of August/beginning of September, now expected end of October.

I've heard rumours of a new trim, Excel plus coming out with the new model year but not really sure what it's going to add on top of the excel trim

Posted

Given there's several models now with a Premiere trim, it wouldn't be a surprise with a model refresh.

Cynically that's likely to be current top spec + existing options, rebranded, price increase and unique colours.

in the space of a day quoted delivery for a 2.0 Corolla TS in any colour has gone from December to the end of February!

Phenomenal demand or a system hiccup?

Posted

They seem to make mostly 1.8.  So the 2.0 gets pushed down.  On Autotrader there are 5 pre-reg 2.0 and over 200 1.8!

Just ordered a new 1.8 Excel. Was not quoted a delivery date, so will have to keep an eye on the app, though usually get an progress email as well.
