Hi,

Does anyone have a good step by step walk through on how to change the gearbox oil on a 2009 1,8 petrol sedan with manual 6 gear transmission?

Thank you 😊

YouTube perhaps. Look for Corolla or any other model 1.6 1.8 , they are very similar.

Manual transmission are usually easy to do.
Find your filler plug and cracked it open but keep plug on, then cracked open  the drain plug, place a large container under and refill.
Replace washers, torque the drain plug to spec , usually around 40Nm , then refill from top hole, when the fluid start dripping out you are done , insert plug and torque it down same specs.
Refill the empty bottles with the old fluid and make sure the amount out matches the amount in of new oil. Use only originals Toyota fluids.
Good luck

One tip I can give after doing mine recently: don't open the filler plug all the way up without having an empty reservoir underneath. In my case the transmission was overfilled and the oil started to spill out. I wasn't ready for that and it made a mess on the drive.

Another tip: use new washers. I read online some people who didn't had issues with micro cracks in the transmission.
