Hi, Does anyone have a solution to the rev hunting that happens when swapping the injectors, intake manifold and throttle body (drive-by-wire) of the 3zz-fe with the ones from a 1zz-fe? Hoping I've got that term correct, as soon as I start it the revs go up and rhythmically go from around 2k to 3k and repeat then after warming up it goes from about 1.2k to 2k (it also slows down the rhythm).

The throttle seems very sensitive when stationary.

While driving the car it's like normal but a bit sluggish compared to with the smaller parts in it.

There's no check engine light so I assume the ECU accepts the new injectors and throttle body.

Thanks

have you performed the throttle zero-point calibration

I have not, all I thought I had to do was reset the ECU and it would learn the new parts. How do I go about doing that calibration?

not sure about a car of that age - have you driven the car any sort of distance to see if it relearns

I just went for a drive for a couple of hours and that seems to have settled the idle issue, it's idling at just over 1k not but I'm guessing that will sort itself out over time. I checked the TPS with an OBD2 adapter and it's at 14.9% when the peddle is up and only goes up to 82% when pressed down, does that seem normal to you or is it specific to each car?

Update: It comes back when starting up after leaving it for a while...🙃

At least it gets better after driving for about 10-20 minutes.

its poss the TPS on the TB or in the idle control valve

As in that might be the issue? The current situation is it does the same rev hunting thing (but slower fluctuations than in the video now) every time I cold start it but goes away after about 5-10 mins of driving. Does that still line up with it being a bad TPS? Is it possible to swap the electronics from my old TB to this new one?

I've noticed when it's rev hunting and I check my OBD2 adapter the throttle position stays the same unlike when I press the pedal.

if it's going away it's the idle control valve

I didn't think it had one since it's an electronic TB. I still have yet to take the intake hose off so I can see if it's actually moving the valve or if it's something else.
