Aftermarket ECUs for Vitz RS NCP10

Hi all!

I'm relatively new to the engine modding side of the community and thought it would do good to check here!

I've got a Vitz RS NCP10 1.3L VVTi 86bhp - 2NZFE - my first car. And I was looking to add more power to it, I was going to tune it to stage 1 but the factory ECU is locked and I've been told there's no way to tune it.

What aftermarket ECU should I go for?

NB. I'm not sure if ECUs are universal but I had planned on either fitting a turbo later on or just swapping to a 1NZFE or to a 4EFTE.
