'Check parking brake and VSC systems'

2010 Toyota Avensis, Diesel.

It's been coming up with a warning that reads "check parking brake system" and "check VSC system".

I took it to Kwik Fit, who read the codes and said that the issue was either with the near side front ABS sensor or with a wheel bearing break in the magnetic ring. He also told me that he was getting a "wheel speed reading from all 4". They recommended replacing the ABS and the magnetic ring.

I've had experiences with garages making an issue far bigger than it appears in order to extract money out of me so I was wondering if anyone has had this issue with their Avensis and whether this could be the cause of these warnings?

Many thanks in advance

On these cars the check parking brake warning acts more like master warning light indicating that there is a problem of some kind with the car, often not with the parking brake. The thing to do is read the stored error codes and fix those systems. Kwik Fit have read the codes and identified an ABS error, which is plausible.

I get this error periodically over the last 20,000 miles, typically occurs after a "misfire" like sensation (diesel!!). Resets via car scanner pro everytime.Keeps suggesting an issue with injector 3, I am working on the injector loom as I suspect a solder joint rather than the injector as it goes 1000's of miles not happening. Had is scanned by a number of places and nobody can give anywhere near an answer,
