I brought a Lifeline starter pack other day for my partner. It was at an autojumble and still sealed with a check date of March 22 so been uncharged for 2 1/2 years. On plugging it in to charge it there was still 75% Battery life left. It's Li-Po rather than Li-lon.

Got this from Aldi, 30 quid . Fits nicely in the glovebox. Made a fly lead so I can plug the tyre inflator to it, great buy.

I love Aldi product.  Cheap but good and TÜV certified.

You could always just disable the keyless entry system on the infotainment system while your away, I think this is the main Battery drain.

Not had a problem yet with my '19 model on the original Battery. It gets used on average every couple of days for an 8 mile trip to and from my golf club with a weekly long journey of 30 miles each way.

I kept the Battery topped up during the first Covid lockdown with a CTEK but haven't bothered since. I keep it in my garage with the car unlocked.

I suspect there's a few different causes, but the keyless takes it's toll, yes. There's a spike in the power consumption about 4 times per second which disappears with keyless disabled. I would assume that's when it's reaching out looking for the fob.

If I park more than 1 month in the airport, I usually remove the D/C cut fuse from the engine bay fusebox. It cuts all body electronics including lock and probably emergency call too.

There is a Technical Service Bulletins TSB that stated to charge the 12V Battery every month and start the engine for 30 mins every 2 months on unsold car in dealership parking lot to charge the hybrid Battery.

Below are officials from government website NHTSA.gov USA, European gov do not share such important data easily to us.

Maybe the European government just doesn't want untrained people attempting to charge a high voltage Battery pack with the risks that the task involves 🤔

@forkingabout No, I think European are smart enough to understand their limit just like Americans. We deal with 12V maintenance, and start cars in P for 30 mins and never need to deal with HV system. The Rescue HV Battery needs a special giant tool that your dealer may not even have.

Generally TSBs are open information that anyone can access including 3rd party mechanics for common issues in certain cars. That is the purpose of TSB.

NHRSA also provides recalls, voluntary recalls, customer satisfaction programs, etc. I got free dashboard on my 12y 230k miles Sienna by knowing Customer Satisfaction Program on Toyota/Lexus cracked/melted dashboard replacement.
