Rear parking sensor operation

Hi. I've just bought a 2010 Avensis Estate and can't get the rear parking sensors to work. I've found a switch in the boot and turned them on but still nothing. Any ideas for something else I need to do? Thanks.

Hi Steve,You have done the right thing by checking the switch in the boot, but if the rear parking sensors on your Avensis still aren’t working, you could try and make sure the sensors aren’t blocked by any dirt or debris, sometimes, even a bit of dirt can stop them from working. Also, if you put the car in reverse and listen closely, you should hear a faint clicking noise from the sensors, which indicates they’re active.Another thing to check is whether the system is actually receiving power. Since you’ve already found the switch, it’s worth checking the fuse related to the sensors. If the fuse is blown, the sensors won’t work at all.If you still have no joy then it’s possible there’s an issue with the wiring or that the sensors are aftermarket and not installed correctly. 😃
