Hi everyone,

I’m in need of new tyres. I’m looking for recommendations based on your experiences. Specifically, I’d love to know:

1) Which tyre brands and models have you found to be the best in terms of performance and durability?

2) Are there any tyres that you would avoid?

3) How do different tyres affect the ride quality and handling of the bZ4X?

4) Any tips on where to get the best deals?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I have found this tire as one of the potential candidates for now.

Hankook iON evo

TÜV_SÜD_Tire_Test_2024_iON_evo_AS_0307.pdf

Customer comments are quite good.

I don't have any bZ4X experience upon which to base a recommendation but:

  • What size tyres do you need?
  • Personally, I choose to run on all season tyres.
  • The only all season tyre EV tyre that I can find is the Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons Gen-3 235/50 R20 104H XL EVR (I am assuming that you are on 20" rims).

I have used https://www.mytyres.co.uk/ in the past and been happy with price and service. They may have a .co.uk website but they are a German outfit - but I can't see that that matters.

  • Thanks 1

I am very happy with the Michelin Cross Climate 2 for my 20” wheels on a RZ.

Thank you for the reply. I have Dunlop 235/50 R20 currently.

I found that "Hankook iON evo (IK01A) 235/50 ZR20 104Y XL 4PR EV, HU, SUV, SoundAbsorber, SBL" and "Pirelli P Zero E Run Flat 235/50 R20 104Y XL Elect, runflat" owners are very happy with performance.

I will also consider your advises.

By the way, the Hankook iON evo (IK01A) has the best rolling resistance performance in the market.

These probably will be the best choice of new tyres.
Hankook has specifically developed these new ev ready tyres few years ago and they has latest technology to suit heavy electric cars.
Run flats tyres aren’t very good imo. If me I go for Hankook over Pirelli

Bz4x 2024 stock tyres are Bridgestone Alenza 001 now.

on a 20" wheel ... the 18" may be different. Toyota simply fit what they have in the supply chain that meets their buying specification so what you get will depend what is in stock on the day the car is built.

After 1 year and 10 months, my tire conditions are as shown in the pictures. What could cause only one tire to be worn (1.6 mm)while the others are in better condition (+3.0 mm)? Any idea?

Which tyre? I'm assuming that it is one of the fronts? It could be that the tracking is off - get it checked before you put new tyres on - or it could just be the result of 'enthusiastic' cornering on your normal route[s].

Your pictures show you measuring tread depth on the outside of the tyre, and it is clear that there is more significant wear on the outside shoulder of that tyre. You should also measure across the tyres and the inside edges.

Out of curiosity, how many miles have they done?

Hello @philip42h

Thanks for your advice. I did around 14k. Yes, it is the left front tire. The inside depth is in better condition.

I wish it was me—at least then I'd know why my tires are all worn out! I drive quite calm 😊

This tyre with 1.6mm has been overheated too. You can see the rubber is cracked and aged. This happens when been used with low pressure. ,  perhaps a slow puncture or similar. Regular tyres pressure checks helps avoid exactly that. You need two new tyres on the front or all 4 new and keep regularly check your pressures. Can request a wheel alignment too if this will make you reassured that nothing else is out of specs.

What is your tyre depth and mileage? I ask this just to compare.

By the way, I booked a checkup with my dealer.
