Has anyone replaced the rear pads/discs  on a 2022 Yaris hybrid . I can’t see any info on the Yaris only other models that use the steering wheel controls to activate break service mode  like on a  late Mercedes. No mention of scan use to activate service mode on Toyotas  so I’m guessing it’s done with the said method. Any advice would be appreciated . Thanks.

Hi,

this video will be helpful.

Why do you need to replace rear pads, what is the mileage?

Yes I saw that along with a couple of similar videos Tony but unfortunately nothing on the gen4 Yaris with the electric handbrake worked via the calipers. Mileage is 38k but the discs seem quite scored and I’m getting a slight brake noise at low speeds

Press and hold the handbrake button down for 10-30 seconds and let go, then turn the car off

So  ignition on and hold down , do you hear the callipers retracting flash ?  And how do I then deactivate break calliper retract mode. I’ve seen loads of you tube videos on Toyotas but none on a gen 4 Yaris. Just checked my Topdon diagnostic tool and it will carry out a calliper retract service, I was impressed that after 37k miles  had absolutely no diagnostic code present or past. Do you work for a dealer Flash ?
I’ve seen videos showing holding down the handbrake lever deactivates auto hold in park and holding it up reactives it. Thanks for your help.

yes ignition on hold down till it retracts (10-30 seconds) pull up and hold should reset it, even better if your scan tool does it
