Hopefully a really easy and quick question.

I'm looking at buying a Corolla Tourer, and yesterday I test drove one in the Icon trim.   I quite fancy the GR Sport trim but wondered if the sports seats have much of an impact on rear space. My kids are quite tall so it does make a difference.

Thanks!

I have a GR hatch and i really wouldn't want to put kids in the back(i don't have any)as there is not a lot of room.

However the Touring has more room in the back but it may be worth while finding one and dragging the kids down on the test drive.

I really wish i had bought the Touring as the rear space and boot are small on the hatch.

All types of seats in Corolla has similar effect on rear legroom, however these sport style found in gr sport and excel does limit the view ahead and darken the overall interior. The back shoulder support is very high and this blocks the view on the rear passenger where icon, design and trek plus all saloon versions they are standard seat design and does no effect as much  the view of the rear passengers. Another negative is that these sport seats although ultra comfortable and supportive they has harder side bolsters on both seat base and back support and these make getting in and out slightly uncomfortable, like seating in a bucket, or a true sport car.

Rear leg room will not be any different between the differential type of seats or if any difference that will be less than an inch.
Touring sport offer more legroom so it will be ok , taking into account the points above. 👍

Thanks both. I've purposely chosen the Tourer due to the extra rear room. There seemed to be enough space in the rear (I sat in there) and my concern was just that the sports seats were deeper and so would limit the room further.

I am taking the kids out for a test drive but I'm not 100% sure the sports trim is available to test.

I'll bear in mind the darkness, but being teenagers they may prefer it!

The Excel also has tinted rear windows 🙄 Teenagers will love the cool look 😀

So the boys came along today and they fitted fine in the back of the Icon. The salesman had spoken to the technical department to get the dimensions of the seats and there is no expected difference in the depth do the leg room should be the same.

Did squash them in the back of a GR hatchback just to be double sure!
