Mk4 Yaris P210 Door card removal, sound deadening and illumination

Door card removal

Remove the mirror cover internal trim, with a trim tool

Pop the window switch out, start where shown and pull upwards

Remove 2 screws, 1 is behind a cover in the handle, the trim then lifts off starting at the blue arrow

Remove 2 more screws, the lower one is deep in there and you will drop it

 

The door card is held by push clips, 3 on either side and 2 at the bottom - remove the cables from the back of the door card you can then release the cables from the handle and lock

 

Sound deadening 2-3 sheets and foil duct tape (Not Duck tape) I used 4mm silentcoat sheets as that is what I had left

 

2/3 of a sheet (landscape)

in the mid/upper door, rolled in place with a seam roller

2/3 of a sheet inside behind the speaker and 2/3 of a sheet on the inner skin, ducted taped edges

 

Door handle illumination

items needed

2x led lamps 81080-22040 (white) or 81080-0D010 (Blue)

2x connector housings 90980-11918

For terminals, i used Yazaki 1.0 III (040 III) around 20-30p each

Wire 16/0.2 in green and pink

2 wires taped to the door loom, remove the kick panel in the car and unplug the 3 connectors (yellow one has a sliding lock on it), remove the rubber bellows making note of the direction of the arrow on the rubber

pull the loom from the car side, in the middle of the lower door hinge, is the clip that holds the loom inside the door, release it, push the rubber inside the door and feed the loom through

you can now get the wiring through the bellows into the car and put it all back together

Factory location of the foot well lamps/leds

now for the wiring, you can splice it into the factory ambient lighting

 

Green for negative and Pink for positive from the door (oem colours)

 

In the footwell, the passenger side

White - Negative, Green - Positive

Red - Negative, Yellow - Positive

 

In the footwell, the driver's side

Green - Negative, Brown - Positive
