Hi, long time no speak, but renewal has come up on my wife’s Yaris.

owing to the lack of 0% finance and crazy deposit contributions that were available when we got our original cars, there has had to be a slight downgrade.

We are going from a Corolla 1.8 Design & a Yaris Design to a Yaris Cross GR Sport (130ps) and a Aygo X Exclusive.

So I’ll still be on the forum, just not the Corolla thread.

All I am trying to do is remember how to get the extra information from the My Toyota website.

And here I thought that the £2650 contribution and 2.9% on a Corolla atm was pretty good (you can get 4%+ putting the cash saved in a bank). Certainly better than the offers for cash.

We are pure borrowing and the Corolla has taken a resale value hit. The Yaris has done better and has actual equity. The Corolla not so good.

So all in all (owning to age related knackered hips) a Yaris Cross was preferable to a Corolla and amazingly can tow more than a CHR, the Yaris Cross became the main car and we can keep the 2nd car as a commuter car an Aygo X fitted the bill.

Tried a cheaper car (Kia Picanto), but was much less comfortable and more a month as higher interest rate and less discount so an easy choice.

This I get. Corolla is quite low to get in .

Corolla it’s not just low to the ground but also has low roof lining.
In comparison to previous generations Corolla/ Auris it is strange feeling when sets in Corolla and slightly less comfortable, cramped and claustrophobic.
The Yaris Cross kind of wins , even the standard Yaris mk4 has more headroom inside. When I tested the Corolla this was so obvious and I wanted to try the cross but no enough time. Perhaps my next test drive will be the cross. And the rear tyres road noise, this is very important to know, in Corolla was terrible, like there was a hole in the boot or rear door was left open.
Let see what is like in  y cross

The Mk4 is very low for a Yaris - I practically fall into the seat now, whereas in previous ones I stepped into it!

Corolla is a low car by today’s standards and cramped in the rear but I certainly don’t feel cramped or claustrophobic in the front and I like the driving position once I’m installed. The seats are great, really comfortable in long journeys and I feel they could stand up to many years of use without showing much wear and tear. When I’m older I’ll probably appreciate a higher ride height but for now I like the feeling of being properly sat ‘in’ the car.
