Fag Lighter Doesnt Work

i push it in and it doesnt stay in tried holding it in to see if that works but no it doesnt, could it be a fuse? everything else seems to work any other ways of testing? how much would a replacement cost ? i saw one go on eBay for £34 seems a bit steep to me

Have you checked that it's plugged in at the back?

Get a multi meter on it, could be the coil that's bust ..

might sound simple but have you checked inside it to see if its clear? my mates dads merc van had a phase of blowing fuses for the lighter, till i had a look in and noticed a bit of plastic lying at the bottom!

I use mine regularly-------for my palm GPS unit.

Smoking should be banned in cars like hand held mobile phone use.

If you don't smoke... get rid of it and fit a Honda S2000 push button START switch there. Fits perfectly.

mine broke using my laptop and inverter all day at jae.

on inspection i found it was the tiny little (plastic covered) element on the back. if the 15a fuse isnt blown, i would put money on it being this in your case.

i bought a new one from mr t 2 weeks ago and it cost just under 30quid for the housing, the actual cig lighter, and a new bulb. a silly amount of money but better than 34 quide for a 2nd hander off eBay!

mine is a tubby and the parts had to be ordered, not sure if it will be the same part numbers on a uk.
