Where is the average position for the water temp to be sitting?

I notice mine sits a bit below half - never seen it up as high as half.

My old NA sat at 9'oclock .. my turbo sits 2 clicks under ..

the temp guage is VERY bad though .. it doesn't move until the water is hot .. and then sits in the middle till it's insanely hot ..

A mate had a 2nd Omori guage tapped in and that would show the temps proper .. just showed how pony the stocker is ..

Ok sounds about right then :) I have noticed the way it sits right down then will as if by magic be at temp :)

What is part/code numebr for toyota for life coolant? If I just go to Toyota and ask for for life stuff will it be correct? Tis a right bugger to check the coolant level on them :/ Any tips?

mine used to sit at 9 o'clock.

now it sites quite a wee bit under it. Dunno if it's because I had a coolant change or because I had a TRD thermostat fitted... I dunno.

It's because you had the TRD thermostat fitted. I've noticed it with mine. Our cars now start cooling 10oC sooner than the stock thermostat... something like 72oC instead of 82oC. It does make a difference.
