How to delete “Guest” account

When I first enter my car the multimedia defaults to the guest account and I have to tell the multimedia to use my account 

Is there any way of deleting the guest account 

Also I have been trying to delete some of my telephone contacts 

But when I go to that menu all of the delete options are greyed out

Could that be linked to not being able to delete the guest account

perhaps just try a system reset that should wipe everything currently stored in the media system and start from afresh. If you look at page 58 of the manual (well for my model) it tells you how to assign a profile to a user etc

Set a device in order to identify a driver. When the engine switch <power switch> is turned to ACC or ON and a registered device is detected, the profile that the device is assigned to is automatically loaded. You can select a bluetooth® device such as a smartphone as the device to be registered.

Touch [COG] from the main menu. Touch [Personal info] on the submenu. Select the desired item.

 

User profile name	The name of the user profile is dis- played. Touch [Edit] to change the profile name.

"Devices linked to your profile"

"PIN"*1	Driver identification is performed using a PIN code and the applicable profile is loaded. Touch [Set new PIN] to reg- ister.
"bluetooth devices"	Driver identification is performed using a smartphone or other bluetooth® de- vice and the applicable profile is load- ed. Touch [Link devices] to register. (→ P.112)
[Reset settings]	Some multimedia settings for the se- lected user profile will be deleted.
[Delete driver]	The registration for the selected user profile will be deleted. Deleting the user profile registered for the owner will delete all users profile registered in the vehicle.

It is unlikely that the first account can be deleted. In most systems (car and other systems) it is used for the "I don't know who you are yet" start up sequence and for those who do not wish to have information recorded about their journeys.

 

As for the contacts list this comes from the phone initially and you might start there. Not sure if the head units retain the information indefinitely but it is highly unlikely.

I had a similar problem. It turned out that the car system had to be reset. Our Dealer did it for us and we've had no problems since.

We stumbled upon why it occasionally logged in to the "Guest" account. It was because the head unit was detecting my wife's phone (not registered with the head unit) before it saw mine. We have exactly the same phones. The fix was relatively simple. Just register her phone with the head unit and then it didn't really matter which logged in first... (Since we only use either of them for Android Auto anyway...) Sounds are either our music collection on a usb stick or the built in DAB radio.
