I've heard of 1-speed transmissions but didn't think that's what it meant! :laugh: 

My grandad used to drive like that. I once asked him why and he said he got a lot of aches and pains in his ankles, so he would basically position his right foot on the pedal where it was most comfortable and let the car do whatever speed it wanted. My gran complained he was often speeding, so his solution was to get a thick sheet of polystyrene and slide it under the accelerator so that it prevented the pedal sinking to the floor so easily. "Geriatric cruise control" I called it..
