Reliable & Good Toyota engines to own (Question)

Hey! I just joined this group because I have a question. Although I'm not an owner of a Toyota, I do want to start searching for an older Toyota. So I have come to ask which old toyotas are reliable and good cars to own. As I am getting my drivers license soon and have been debating on which Toyotas I want to look for. So I came wanting to ask which engines are reliable. I'm personally looking for models from the 80s up to the late 2000s. I just want clarification on which engines that I should be looking for. As I've thought about engines like the old 90s FE engines and the 80s Toyotas, and then the D4D, D-cat, D4 VVT-I. I'm debating on which engine I should be looking for when I'm ready to buy a car. And if anyone knows any more good engines.

Hello William, as far as I know, all Toyota's are renowned for lasting a long time and being reliable. I would make sure that whatever you get, make sure it has been serviced properly, particularly check that the oil and filter has been changed regularly. You might also want to think about a Honda, as they are also super reliable and long lasting. Good luck.👍

I know I am biased here, but a 3S-GE from the 1990's - 2.0, 156BHP.
