Looking around for car insurance quotes , looking at saga ( used before) standard insurance is £352 however, I can fix this for the next three years at £425, still cheaper than the direct line quote £501, good idea to fix? or better to search around next year, the fixed price does come with more additional cover though, just wondering what others think..

Depends what the additional cover is, and whether that is attractive/beneficial for you.

What happens if you make a claim or claims, and NCD is lost either entirely or partially. Can the insurer increase your premium in the event of a claim?

The fix costs you £73 per year (£219 in total).

Good point, I think it’s the price that’s fixed over three years and you are allowed 2 claims per year for your ncd to be unaffected.

If the fixed price policy includes protection for up to two claims without affecting your no-claims bonus, that’s a valuable feature. This means you could make up to two claims over the term of the policy and still retain your no-claims discount, which can help keep your premiums lower in the future.Given this protection, the fixed-price option seems advantageous, especially if you value stability and extra coverage. Just be sure to check any specific conditions or limitations associated with this protection.🙂

I will have to check the details again, one feature is that it says it will replace my car with a brand new one of the same spec if my car is written off or stolen and not recovered providing I’m the first registered keeper, which I am..

Must admit I'd jump on that - I've never had a renewal that didn't increase!!
