We got the wifes Aygo X Trend in 2021 when it was 6 months old and 1200 miles from a dealer.Since the miles have been put on (now 23K) so many things are going wrong.Only the wife drives it as its a MMT gearbox and she doesn,t drive fast at all.

The things wrong to date:

The fuel gauge has started to lie and keeps adding a bar then losing it and adding it and so on.

Bits of door trim at the bottom of the windows have just fell off and vanished

Lots of rattles everywhere.Used to be silent before.

The head unit has a mind of its own and keeps displaying the "Check surroundings" message even when you are not in reverse.

The right + paddle has ceased working on the steering wheel

Now sticks in 2nd,3rd and 4 the gear until you change it manually. On;y does it going up in gears.

Both front tyres are bald at 23K miles. The wife doesn,t drive like a loon.Far from it.Pressures have always been correct. These are the OE Michelin tyres.

The AC is non existent

So before its 2nd MOT and 4th service we are binning it to "We Buy any Cr@p" who have offered silly money for it.

Shame really as the little 1KR is awesome but just a shame its wrapped in a Euro sh**box.

MMT gearbox for you 😱 wouldn't touch one but apart from like you said tyres not lasting that long or the discs in my case? not a bad car the Aygo.

On one of my aygos I had two new tyres put on at about 20000 miles

Seems to be the norm but I never had  any of the problems you have had

Sorry you have to get rid of it

might just be a, bad one

Good luck with the replacement

Found my Aygo used to eat it's front tyres otherwise not half bad but it was a manual.

Hi,

what did you replace it for , and why didn’t traded in or you did?

And don’t try to use the 10 year warranty on it either as they basically state you used the car.

Still looking around at the moment. We would of never got the price that WBAC were offering if we traded in.Dealers would just screw you.

Trade in price is stupid.  My sister's 2013 Peugeot 3008 was traded in for £2000, a month later, the car was listed on the market for £5990 and sold!

Nevertheless, we insist on trading it in because:

1. The timing belt & water pump was due.  Not exactly a horrible job as I can probably DIY it.  But all the parts and material do add up.

2. Injector number 4 was on its way out.  I've reset-ed the check engine light before the dealer inspected it.  6 months before that, injector number 1 had similar problem.  Thankfully with a can of injector cleaner, it never came back (unlike number 4 which is very persistent.)  An injector cost £600 at the garage next to me.  Say we replaced 1 & 4 for £1200, how long does 2 & 3 last?

3. The car supposedly had a new Dual Mass flywheel / clutch & actuator 2 years ago which my sister paid £1500.  2 years later, some of the clutch failure early symptom starting to show itself.

4. It was an Euro 5 Diesel.  With the "Clean air trend" happens across the country, probably not long before she had to pay extra everywhere she goes.

With all these problems lurking, we don't want to be harassed by the new owner.  So we took the easy way out.  Kind of costly, but saves us headache.

My sister was thinking about the newer Peugeot 3008 as her next car.  PureTech 1.2 wet belt and Timing Chain that snaps at 50K... That sounds fun right?  At the end, she picked Hyundai Tucson Hybrid.  Her choice, nothing to do with me, as there is a limit on what I can do to Hybrid vehicles.
