Hi does anyone know how to change the bulb in the wing mirror indicator on a 2017 yaris.

Thanks

Opened mine a few years ago. Think I pry/pull the outer casing out by hand or with a little help of a flat head screw driver. Get to the bulb from there somehow.

If using a flathead screwdriver or similar, it's wise to wrap the blade in electrical tape.

A flat plastic trim removal tool is better. From what I remember, as Mojo suggests, access to the lamp is possible after removing the rear cover.

These are the repeaters that fit my car. Could have changed with newer versions though.

Are incandescent lamps still used in 2017 or is it now those silly and expensive l.e.d.s?

No normal bulbs still fitted, looked through the manual and says to remove the mirror glass ?

Ditto. Looks like the glass is just clipped onto a circular plate, but bending and pushing it seems risky. I guess it has a strong backplate with the clips on.

Looking at the diagram, if you have power mirrors I think you should probably motor them fully up before prying rather than by hand.

I'm always terrified of removing the mirror glass.

As Mike suggests the glass is secured by a round fixing and it's best to move them fully up or horizontally - if powered. If they are heated then there will be an electrical connection attached to the glass.
