Hi everyone,

I am slowly upgrading and putting my Townace back on the road.  All five of my tyres are perished so I thought it could be cheaper to upgrade the wheels and tyres for something bigger than the 205/70R14’s by increasing the diameter to 15’s or 16’s.

does anyone know the largest diameter or size I can sensibly increase to please without going over the top? Thank you.

Whatever size you're looking at, you need to check the effect of the new wheels/tyres on the speedometer - it's illegal to under-read and over-reading is limited. The

Websites such as the following can check the effects:

If you fit a 16" wheel the tyre size will be 215/55R16.

You will have the same rolling circumference as your 14" tyres, but the sidewall will be narrower.
