Hi all,

Just changed to new Battery and all good with power. When I turn key, I can hear starter is connecting but it does not crank when turning key full. Is this an electrical problem that anyone have experienced?

Faulty starter?

Old school method is give the starter a tap with a hammer and see if it will wake the starter up.  It is very difficult with Aygo because the starter is located at the back of the engine next to the firewall.

More technical approach is:

1. check to see if +12v is sent to the starter solenoid when you turn the key.

2. Observe the amount of power draw when you turn the key.  With a fully functional starter, you should see a visible drop in Battery voltage.  Say before you turn the key, 12.6v, when power is sent to the starter, you should see 11v or maybe less.

Also, see if you can turn the crankshaft over by hand to rule out the possibly of seized engine.  (Turn crankshaft clockwise.)

just a thought

If the car is a manual, stick it in gear (1st or 2nd) and roll/rock the car forwards or backwards, take it out of gear and try to start it

Does this look normal? The relay contactor for the starter.
