Something odd is happening with factory orders.

Mid August we ordered both an Aygo X Exclusive and a Yaris Cross GR Sport with safety pack both in Juniper Blue and was told 6 - 8 weeks.  Two weeks later it had slipped to end Oct or November.

We changed our order to a Persian Blue Aygo & Silver Yaris Cross as both were already in the UK.

Before we changed to the Cross GR Sport we were looking at an Excel and we were told we could not order one of those in Juniper Blue.

Many thanks some great suggestions here. I'm going for the Edge as it will be ready 23/9 (cancelled order from someone else) over the Pure which still says manufacture not started on my order.

Nice one sure you will be pleased. As I said before the specs are so close on the Aygo X when I was looking at one just out of interest, I would of gone for the Edge just because of body colour choice and maybe the front fogs look nice and like you would preferred smaller alloys, but heyho. Bit like when we were looking at Mk2 versions, as long as the mechanicals were Toyota, I gave Big Sis free rain to choose Aygo, C1 or 108 styling, she chose 108, again we went mid spec., partly on budget, but also cos the next version up had keyless entry and horrid alloy wheel design, which we weren't interested in.

Any reason why?

Missus ordered a Juniper Blue Yaris Cross back in early April & collected it early June.

Pick up my new white Aygo X Edge tomorrow!

I have a car port/covered area which I can just about get my 2014 Corsa into but I rarely do as bit hard to get in and out of. When  it was new I garaged it in my old house, but have since moved.

The opening is 2.2m to door edges and the space is 2.4m overall. The Corsa is definately longer, but very little width wise, the Aygo maybe 0.6cm less. I've chalked out where I think it will come and it may work but still tight to get in and out of driver door. Certainly nice to keep it undercover in the Winter.

Looking at dimension the Aygo X is def shorter 3.7m over the Corsa 4m. Width of Corsa is about the same. Sizing web site says Aygo X is 0.6cm less width wise 😞

Def both cars need their mirrors folded in to get through opening.

Might put some foam/cushening on that brick wall at mid height

The Aygo is quite narrow, I would say if you got your Corsa in there, the Aygo would go in.

Thanks. Yes its really about getting out lol.

The Corsa would go past the back door whereas at least the Aygo won't 🙂

Know what you mean, when we were looking for my sister's new car to replace her aged Fiesta Mk3 the new Fiesta wasn't even an option cos over the years it grown so much it wouldn't fit in her garage, hence another win for the Mk2, shame the new Aygo X has got so big in all areas, but at least it still exists.

Although it does fit, one added security feature is you would need to be a very thin burgler to get it out.

P.S. Good luck for tomorrow hope all goes well and enjoy the drive home.

Hope the handover goes smoothly and you are pleased with your car

regarding the width, judging by the number of paving blocks you must have around 2.3m, the car is just under 1.8m so you should be ok - swimming pool noodles are quite good as buffer cushions on the wall, colours to match most situations!

Observant 🙂

Re noodles, they might work.  Would need to see how to attach them to that brick wall.

Finally got there. Picked up the car on Monday 3 miles on the clock. Quite impressed with the garage there was 100 miles of petrol in the tank and they were very helpful and keen I give them good reviews lol

Fits in the car port. Bit of carpet on the wall where the doors opens works well.

The whole my Toyota app is new to me and interesting the things you can track. On some models I think you can even tell the car to start from your phone!

Really loving Apple Car Play and the 9" display. So glad I came here and got some advice and also upgraded to the Edge spec.

My wife has also taken the car out and likes it. The gearbox is much smoother than the Corsa and at lower speeds acceleration is as good if not better than the Corsa. Not taken it out on a motorway/fast road yet. Most of our driving is city based. Amazed how quickly we got use to it. Very simlar size to the corsa when driving just Corsa is a bit longer. The bleeping for speed was annoying at first but getting use to it. After a while I realised one beep indicates change of speed restriction whereas the longer ones are when you exceed speed limit (should read manual more). Have recently done a speed awareness course (it was actually a good experience) this is probably a good reminder.

Re Apple Car Play as we both have phones (Apple) is it a good idea to have MyToyota on both phones ? would be nice for it to switch to relevant phone automatically for either of us when in and starting car ? does one phone take priority when both are the car or do you have to select a phone each time ?

I'll report back again in a few weeks.

One last thought I've always had a spare wheel or purchased one but  in this case there seems no room so the wheel gunk seems the only option. I guess that destroys the tire if used ?

Oh one last thing it has carpet matts I think I may purchased rubber ones. I guess OEM are best ?

Thanks again.

Nice one. I could do with a little car port like yours as I just have a driveway (which is better than nothing) but this time of the year, the leaves are really annoying me.

Nice one, pleased all went well with the pick up and both of you are enjoying it all so far, bit jealous to be honest, but sticking with our Mk1. Can't beat a bit of axminster on the wall, we done the same.

You mentioning the petrol reminds me years ago buying my used Ford Mondeo from a Ford main dealer, it was running on fumes and there were a few other admin errors which made the whole pick up experience a bit of a joke, but thankfully the actual car experience was a lot better.

Looking forward to further updates, but don't be too complimentary cos our Mk1 may start getting nervous 😁

Yes the irony being I could have kept my Corsa in there for the last 4 years since we moved though with lots of work being done on the house full of junk. Our last house had a garage.

Thanks. Yes I only just remembered about carpet on the wall which I did previously in my garage. We use to buy second hand when we were young and even thought the last few cars have been new we have kept them for 10 years approx before changing. I only have my other cars to compare it with never owned a Toyota or Aygo before.

Well done and congrats on the new Aygo X.  You had made the best decision to pick edge over pure. The most important extras worth way more than the price difference, the auto hvac system is priceless and the fog lights too. 👌

Same here, we usually buy 2nd hand, but surprise surprise due to a c*ck up by the Peugeot dealer on a 2nd hand one we were looking at, we started talking about a new one and then we got an offer we couldn't refuse. Also, similar although ours technically a Peugeot, first Toyota mechanicals car we ever owned and not been disappointed yet, actually one reasons we bought it was for the Toyota mechanicals after i did some investigation about the triplets tie up years ago, if the oily bits were french then maybe not!

Ironically the garage we had is now my study, it was turned into a second living room, it had a bed in it at one point as well.

Congrats on picking up your new car 🙂

For the spare wheel a spacesaver is available, I recently added one to my car and posted some example pictures on this thread:

I mention that (if you wish to save some money) you could do without the new boot mat, the original one can fit.

For the mats, I switched to rubber ones, the OEM mats are a better fit than the after-market ones. I got a set off eBay which were unused and nearly half-price, hunting Facebook marketplace may also be fruitful.

I wish you many uneventful motoring miles!

Yep, that is the one I used

Thanks for that. I note on the post you linked to you said you could stick with the stock base cover and maybe save a little though seaching on direct parts it does not appear all the parts are available individually ?

I've purchased full sized spares in the past for my cars but interestingly never had to use them. But like insurance I guess.

Ill definately look into the rubber mats first.

It only appears as the whole kit on their website, however when you look at the detail of what they supply in the kit each component is listed separately - when delivered the package included the invoice and pick-list for each individual part.

If you were trying to save a few £’s it is certainly worth asking if they could supply the kit without the cover - they were very responsive and friendly to emails, or give them a call and ask, they can only say no.

I took pictures of the boot with both covers fitted - I can see why the different one is supplied, but (in my view) it isn’t strictly necessary, of course others may disagree.

Yep worth having, thankfully our Mk2 the previous owner ticked that option which was a handy bonus, otherwise I would got a proper spacesaver spare. But you never know, not need one for many many years then on our other car the other year got a major blow out, which the gunk would not fix, having the spacesaver meant I could put it one and straight to tyre shop without needing AA etc.

I assume the kit includes the wheel and tire ?
