CHR PHEV charging schedules creates dent in my head

I started well by using the My Toyota app to create a daily evening charging schedule but not without minor hiccups. I then tried to be clever by using the in car schedule and this is when  I damaged my head and garage wall by using my cranium as a guided missile on a fire and repeat basis. The Toyota manual's  guidance  is worse than useless in  explaining how to set it all up and the pictures locating the controls do not resemble what I have on my steering wheel.

The strange thing is the option to setup the schedule would appear on the drivers instrument panel and then vanish when I tried to activate it and setup the timings and I have no idea which buttons to press on the steering wheel to set all this up. This makes me think exactly which CHR model my manual refers too ??? but its definitely not mine. 

I am sticking ty Toyota App for the moment despite it being a very slow process. 

Anybody else having similar problems with their CHR MK2 PHEV ?
