I’m concerned I will be on holiday for 16 days and my Corolla hybrid 2022 will be parked at the airport with the electronic parking brake on. With my precious Toyota Auris I would always leave the parking brake off and leave it in gear to stop the brakes binding. Can anyone advise what the best process for this to stop the rear bakes binding, is it best to leave in Park or neutral maybe and switch off the electronic parking brake?

Definitely leave it in park. You might be worrying unnecessarily but,  if it gives you peace of mind, go ahead and release the parking brake before you shut it off.

TBH, I'm quite surprised: When I read the title, I was fully expecting another post about 12v Battery anxiety!😉

Thanks for your reply much appreciated, will leaving it in park without the handbrake on do any damage to the auto gearbox though?

My 2019 car has just been stood on the drive for 18 day while I recovered from my first dose of Covid. The car started instantly, as if it had been stood overnight.

I know my car does not have all the connectivity of the later cars but I was still surprised it started instantly!

Not really a surprise as 2019 models are not affected by the parasitic drain issue. Your 12v should last years.

No damage or risk of it if the car been left in park without parking brake.
I do that all the time unless the car is parked on incline and parking brake is needed to hold the car.

I'd be more concerned about someone else damaging my car whilst away than anything else.

We're fortunate to live an hour from the main airport, so it's better to get a taxi company to drop us off and collect us upon return.

I left my car for around 16/17 days with the parking brake on whilst on holiday, it started and moved fine. You will of course experience the initial rusty discs but other than that it was fine.

I didn't actually know you could turn the parking brake off? I always just put the lever into P and let it do its thing.
