Android Auto Issues Toyota corolla 1.8 Hybrid 2020

Hi , just picked up my new car yesterday , Well pleased with it , The only issuse i am having is with is Android Auto

My phome is a Samsung S22 Ultra running the latest Android Auto August 2024 version  .

The issue is when Android Auto is on the screen the voice command button reverts to the screen voice commands built in the infotainment unit

The android auto screen is still on and responds except when i press the steering wheel button ?

I have re installed Android Auto on Phone , no luck , tried a new cable, x3  

Tried my wireless android box , Same  thing , The funny thing is i can sometimes get it working if i hold down the speech button on the steering wheel

it comes up with the google command on the screen. Then other times it plays up.

Would you think the latest android software is buggy?

Car is a late 2020 Reg

 

Please help this is driving me mad

Try short press to use car system. Long press should initiate Google. I think that is how it is designed to work.
