Spare key problem

Dumb key without the immobilizer chip that is my guess.

for a 2023 Aygo that's clearly a manufacturer problem, I'd mention it to your dealer.

Definitely points towards an immobilizer issue:

When an "ID Chip" is not detected by the sensor near the key barrel, the car will fail the immobilizer check.

With the immobilizer check failed, the car will not activate the fuel pump thereby preventing the car to go anywhere.

The end effect is the car may turn over the engine, but it will shut itself immediately.

 

So either the ID Chip is not present OR more than likely NOT CODED INTO THE CAR PROPERLY.

If the key was from Toyota, they will need to sort this mess out.  If you cut it from a spare key shop, well you get what you paid for.  Afterall, a spare key with the coding typically cost no less than £150.  And if it was a remote key that can lock and unlock the key from a distance, you are looking at no less than £300
