AYGO X USB

Since I purchased my Aygo x last year I have been using a 4gb usb successfully for my music, and for no apparent reason has stopped working, yet if I insert a 8gb or 32gb usb drive into the Aygo port, they work fine.

 

The 4gb music usb works on my PC so isn't faulty.

 

Also I've noticed the voice recognition isn't working for music on the usb, yet it works for radio station selection. I get a constant 'pardon' message, and it has worked previously, albeit intermittently.

 

Any ideas why? would it be a software update?

While USB drive works on one device, doesn't always means it will work equally fine on another.

I've encounter 3 USB drives like that.  Not surprisingly, those that were PICKY are mostly sourced from China.

 

In fact, it it a Characteristic of semi-conductor:  All semi-conductor degrades overtime.  Then difference device have different level of tolerance.

Its like a USB drive gradually failed to be recognised on my PC, but still works fine in my friend's Nissan Qashqai.  Yet, in maybe a couple of months, the qashqai might not accept that USB as well.
