Hi Team,

Due to my recent multiple posts,Most of you would now have known I got a new Yaris Cross.I appreciate everyone who has responded.

Dealership gave me a service plan for 3 years and 2 years breakdown cover + 1 MOT

in 28£/month.

After finalising and reaching home I realised it has got 1 Intermediate service then full service and 1 Intermediate as last one.

1) Will I be fine with intermediate service or it has to be full service?Whats the recommended service plan?

2)Is it worth continuing this plan ?I take those services myself this will cost me 775£.

I have breakdown cover in my insurance already.

many thanks

Breakdown cover is full Toyota (AA) cover, same as your first year with the car. So if car was new you've effectively paid again for breakdown. Also check what the cover is...often basic green flag (which may be all you need) but sometimes it's so basic it covers the call out, not the actual repair/recovery.

I've kept Toyota/AA cover going on all my previous as it's better value than normal prices.

Service intervals are intermediate/major/intermediate based on annual or 10k miles so it's the correct schedule.

You generally don't save as such but you are protected against price increases for the term so it's generally a good thing.

I see.

I have clarified with the team regarding AA cover.AA cover was free for 1st year but it includes additional 2 years.

Since I am new to Toyota do we usually see increase in prices?

Thanks

Yes, I've seen service costs increase but don't recall a percentage.

Typically I will buy upfront, haggle for discount and use a cashback credit card. That way it's a saving, better still if prices do increase, than leaving the money in the bank.

Have you previously managed to secure a discount on the genuine Toyota (not dealer's own) service plan?

I have no clue they quotes me 1008 pounds 28£ for 36 months.

I still have a cooling off period.

OH bought a 3 year Toyota national service plan in April for her Yaris premier on delivery and dealer gave us 10% discount for paying up front. I then did as described and paid on a cashback credit card.

Thanks, I must remember that when my car gets delivered & see if my dealer will do the same.

Daft question, when you go to the Toyota website it doesn’t allow you to buy the service plan on there but it says to contact your dealer?
I’m picking up my new YCP on Wednesday and intend to sign up to the 3 year package at the same time, my presumption is it’s a Toyota service plan which will then show up in the MyToyota App?

Yes it's a Toyota (EMAC) service plan. It will be linked to the car and service department will see it but it doesn't show in the app. Never had issues.
