Hey there, Ive been chasing a new distributor of my 1987 Corolla, I believe it has a 4A F engine, but I can’t find a cap that match’s,  mine has clips and all new ones I can find are a bolt on cap

today when clean it up I found a sticker on the tapper cover that says 4A 3A/T, but all research I can find this motor doesn’t belong in this car (or did they come out with it?) how can I tell if it is the original engine or just a replacement tapper cover

Also will other complete distributor set ups from other models like the starlet, or sprinter fit my motor.

Any info about this motor will be helpful, not a lot on the net, thanks

Corolla came with both 3A or 4A-LC  (1.5 or 1.6). These both came with clip-on distributor caps in some cases.

Photos will help here. Take the cap off and look for the part number. As long as the current cap is the original, that should help you track down a replacement.
