Hi, I have Toyota Yaris 2015 Hybrid and it has been no problem at all, but started last week, key hob suddenly not working, so changed Battery, still not working. I contacted local garage, they can't find anything wrong. My husband contacted Toyota Helensburgh and they told us to change 12v Battery. It changed today, and still not key hob working. Does it receiver in the car not working? or what is wrong? Any one advise me, really greatful.

Hi,

you very likely need to reprogram the key fobs on your car. I am not sure why exactly happens but sometimes when either car 12v Battery is low or the key fob Battery is low the car will stop recognise your keys.
You will need to follow procedures that are widely available Online . Just Google Toyota hey programming ans find something that is about your model. Do that and you will be ok.

I was looking at the Toyota UK magazine and there are some recent posts about the 12v Battery issue. A Toyota representative has replied stating that the Battery issue has been addressed in the latest model refresh beginning around April 2024.  He reckons that this can be checked via the dealership or you can send your reg. to them to be checked.  These posts are the latest in the magazine (online) on page 31.  I was following a link to the coronavirus advice in a post on page 1 of the top thread and it links to the magazine; this then displays the most recent pages if you go to the bottom of the first page and click 31.

@Jeff43 In the magazine Toyota’s reply states “The 12V Battery on the Yaris Cross has been amended in the latest model refresh”. Why would they not also have addressed the Yaris hatchback? Is their statement reliable?
