My issues with wireless Android Auto connection dropping now seem to have gone away. Presumably as a consequence of updates on my phone.

However, when navigating with Google maps, if google is speaking an instruction to me and the car system beeps for some reason (speeding, RSA, etc), the verbal instruction from google stops and does not continue after the car beeps.

Anyone else seeing this?

When using the inbuilt satnav verbal instructions are not interrupted by a warning beep.

Yeah I think this is just how it works.

If you think about it, it seems unlikely that our phone could possibly interpret a beep from the car and pause audio output accordingly.

I wonder if Android Automotive works better and provides that 2 way communication. 🤔

I was just thinking that there is no reason why the car could not 'beep' over audio that was playing. I think it does this ok when you are playing the radio, etc. Not sure what it does when playing music via Android auto but will check later.

That's what it does though, isn't it? Although, it first lowers the volume of the audio and beeps over it.

At least that's that's what it's done on every car I've driven with Android Auto, whether it's the radio, your own music, or the spoken route guidance.

I imagine, as those beeps are safety warnings, they have to lower the volume of whatever's playing in order to ensure you'll hear the beep.

It doesn't just lower the volume though. The beep ends the voice guidance from google maps over AA

Oh, ok. I rarely enable voice guidance.

I don't think it does that with my setup.

I'll have to check.

Mind you I don't think my car beeps all that often either! 😆

Different model but I've also noticed similar in the new Yaris Cross where the AA navigation cues get cut off abruptly.
