Mystery Button

I recently purchased a '21 Reg Corolla Icon. I'm puzzled as to the function of this button on the steering wheel. It does not appear in the owner's manual (although all the other buttons do) & nothing seems to happen when it is pressed, no indication light on the dashboard. It looks as though it should be something to do with the front parking sensors but the car is not fitted with them.

I believe its to do with the adaptive cruise control and the closeness to which you want the car in front to affect your speed. You'll notice when you activate cruise control theres 3 bars each time you press that it will go down to 2 then 1 and then back up to 3 depending on number of presses.
