Avensis engine problem

Hi I have joined this group because I have got a problem with my 2014 avensis. My better half was driving along and there was a puff/cloud of white smoke out the back of the car then no power and could drive and stopped. Engine turns over but not even thinking about drying to start. Anyone any ideas? Maybe turbo or fuel system?

Hi Iain,The puff of white smoke often indicates oil entering the exhaust, a common symptom of a turbocharger seal failure. When the seals on the turbo fail, engine oil can leak into the intake or exhaust system, burning off as white smoke. The turbocharger plays a crucial role in forced induction. If it fails, the engine loses the boost pressure, resulting in an immediate and significant power drop. If the turbo failure was severe enough to allow a significant amount of oil into the engine's intake, it could lead to a hydrolock situation where oil in the combustion chamber prevents the engine from turning over or could foul the spark plugs/injectors, causing a no start condition.👍
