Thanks. Interesting, I ordered a MY24.5 excel TS 2L on August 31 and got a provisional delivery date of February 2025. Hopefully it will come forward.

Apparently production was held up on the 2.0 models due to the emissions update. I heard from my dealer on 29th about it and a day or two later that it had gone from on order to processing and they were starting to see cars coning through. Originally they were hoping for before end of August, so, probably 2 or more weeks of backlog. No idea how many that could be or impact on new orders but others fairly soon were reporting Feb delivery being quoted.

Yes, I know.

However, https://www.toyota.co.uk/content/dam/toyota/nmsc/united-kingdom/new-cars/corolla-hatchback/Corolla-HB-and-TS-September-24-(MY24).pdf shows all trims as having 6 Speakers.

& I will be checking with my dealer (& possibly Toyota CS direct).

p.s. as of yesterday, my 2.0 Excel TS ordered on 30/8 was still showing at the dealer as due for delivery in February.

I also told them if the "list price" goes over £40k by then (it's currently £38k+) & the car becomes liable for the £410 p.a.  additional road tax I will not be proceeding.

Yes, its never shown it correctly.  The MY24 brochure came out earlier as well, spring time, and also had Excel listed as no JBL. My dealer sent a spec sheet which had detailed and exact specs for the current MY and insited it didn't change other than emissions for MY24.5

I'll update when I go to collect mine...as long as it does have JBL! Otherwise that will be Excel #3 left at a dealer 😑

The MY24 brochure never showed JBL. Go by the website and double check with your dealer that JBL etc is still fitted as standard. MY24.5 was started couple weeks ago but only an emissions update, no spec change. My dealer has assured me my car has JBL and is now in build as of today, due in a couple weeks to pick up.

Could I ask when you placed your order? Just interested how long it's taken to go into build stage?

Did you order a 2ltr then?

I'd out above June, but it was actually early july i did the initial paper work. So in normal situation it would be end of August, approx 6-8 weeks. But the 2.0 was delayed so nearer 12 weeks. There is also likely a backlog. The dates the dealer can get are reasonably close - mine has been sending regular video updates showing the order on the system.

I get my Excel on Friday, and was told that JBLs are included when ordered, so they better be !

A 5 week delivery on the car which is good.

Is that the 1.8 or 2.0?

Can I ask, did you order the 1.8? We did, on 16th September and the app just says order processing still?

5 weeks is a good turnaround, where in UK are you based?

It is the 1.8, based in central Scotland

The app will stay at processing until it actually starts production. Usually you will get an email around the same time. It might enter "in build" on the dealer's view and sit there for a week or so but you won't see that change in the app.

Got the car with JBLs, still to try them out but nice and clear with talk radio stations. Updated the app and all is showing correct. Just need to get used to the different display from the old car but all is good.

Hopefully mine arrives at the dealer Monday and I will be asking them to confirm before I go there the following week.

So my car actually arrived at the dealer yesterday, previously the ETA was 7th.

Sales exec I'm dealing with was off Thurs/Fri but sent me a video of the car earlier this morning. He even made a point of showing it had the protection pack and importantly the JBL and HUD. To be fair, he has been awesome and very patient with my many queries and anxiety caused by the previous dealer.

Being PDI'd this week, dash cam fitted and then I am picking up on 14th. Could have had it earlier but needed to book time off work.

Just a reminder this was ordered in July, as MY24 when the then current brochure also didn't mention JBL (but note it also shows left hand drive). Originally expected end of August but delayed due to emissions update and was finally built as MY24.5. App showed build started 28th, left factory 30th and showed in transit (dealer confirmed on the 1st he could see it "at depot").

Added the history of order and the app statuses as I know there's been a few querying lately.

Will update further when I pick it up and impressions coming from a MY21.5 .

I may even bore you all with the saga leading up to the new car!

So picked up the car today and after 12 months + of waiting now very happy.

As above, car has JBL which does sound slightly better than previous JBL. Maybe some minor changes now it's standard on Excel rather than an option. Certainly more bass and overall cleaner. Not massively different but seems better.

HUD and dash/multimedia etc, very similar to OH's Yaris Premiere. Had hoped for the predictive driving when using nav and Hybrid indicator in HUD but can't see options. Turn by turn in HUD is nice which has road name and distance whereas Yaris only seems to have a diagram of the junction.

Newest HSD feels slightly better at low speed - definitely improved torque so pulls a bit better and overall the car sounds quieter (I had put Goodyear EGP2 on front of last car which quietened that but new one overall quieter).

Minor tweaks to styling externally are nice. Chrome trim around windows instead of the black rubber which go well with the darker colour. Went for decuma grey (originally wanted scarlet flare bitone but two failed attempts by previous dealer just put me off). Decuma was always my second choice anyway and it looks really nice and should be stunning once I can do a full detail. Rear is slightly different.

Not yet tried the adaptive lights at night.

Minor niggle it seems the tracking is slightly off; steering wheel off centre and very slight pull on the motorway. If it wasn't new I wouldn't even mention it. Need to check tyre pressures when cold to be sure but may need to pop back. Dealer already suggested that so don't anticipate a problem.

Overall very happy and looking forward to getting out later this week to give it it's first detail. Also very happy with Chris and Snow's Toyota in hedge end. Very patient throughout and kept me well informed. Excellent handover...been a long time since the handover was truly that with care taken to make sure everything set up and main bits highlighted. Car was also nicely prepared and in a handover bay inside with desk for paperwork and good lighting and space and time to properly look over  the car. No pressure, no fuss and a genuine interest in looking after me and making sure I was happy and any questions answered. Thoroughly recommend them.

You can check the pressures of the tyres from the dash.

Yeah they look ok there, so will manually check when cold in case it's a sensor/calibration issue but they'd have to be way off and that would be noticeable just looking at them.

Chris Bayliss at Snow's Hedge End is one of the many Toyota dealer sales staff that I have been dealing with over the last few months. He is by far the best of those that I have dealt with & if he was not pretty much at the other end of the country from me he would have got my order.

There's always the drive home to enjoy the new car 😉

Honestly, Chris has been superb throughout.
