St183 Alternator Replacement

Hey all,

I have just bought a 1992 st183 Convertible Celica (3s-ge Engine). I'm having issues with the car needing a jump start & dying about 5 minutes later. 

Pretty sure its an alternator problem, but the issue is I can't find the part number for it due to age.

Also, it looks like one of its previous owners spliced the alternator cable plug for some reason.

Any help will be much appreciated.

I'm seeing four different part numbers for that alternator.

Try searching Amayama with your VIN.

It's probably going to be cheaper to get your existing alternator reconditioned.
