Can someone please help me.

I´m fixing the brakes on my 2002 Corolla T-Sport (LHD in Iceland).

I haven´t used the car for some time so the guide sleeve bolts were rusty and completely stuck, one on each side.

So I took the brake carriers out, marked them left and right (I did not notice the difference before) and took them to a garage I regulary use, to get them refurbished.

When I got it back, my left & right markings had been removed.

Can anybody please tell me which is which. Does it matter?

They look identical except for this small cut the arrows point at.

Left and right have different part numbers:

Left: 4772109090

Right: 4772109060

I already have google this so much, and not found a trusty conformation which is left or right.

Hi,

Although my 1.6 has a different part numbers for its carriers , just taken a look at them and they do have that single 45degree cut out like yours and they are both located in the upper position.

Have had mine off to replace the discs in the past but only one side done at a time so no way were they ever mixed up.

Thank you so much Oldcodger for this.

I was beginning to believe it should be like that. And you confirmed it for me.

I was thinking if this has something to do with, when you change the pads and you leave the upper bolt in, and you swing the carriers up.

At least I´m going to install this like that later today.

Please if someone knows it´s wrong let me know.
