Its interesting to see the love for the CC2. I understand in cold/snowy weather they are of course much better but... it looks like in many of the tests on tyreviews they are actually not great in wet breaking performance vs other all seasons and of course way down against reference summer tyres in non winter weather wet tests.

Wet performance has been a weakness of Michelin's more recent tyres for some reason; The ePrimacy is especially bad!

The CC2 isn't as bad as tests make out though - The problem is it has more of a 'cliff'; Under normal driving conditions they are actually very grippy in the wet, but at the track speeds and loads the tests are often done at, it just can't clear the water fast enough and the clever tricks they use to maintain grip no longer work.

I prefer the CC1 as it's more summer biased - The CC2 works much better in the snow and ice than the CC1 but looses some summer wet and dry performance to it.

That said I tend to run summers all year round as it never gets cold enough for snow to stick around down here; We maybe get a couple days if we're lucky, but then everyone freaks out and the city grinds to a halt anyway

Currently have a set of Michelin Primacy4s on and they're very nice for the price thanks to the ATS Euromaster offer!

Mechanic friend of mine put a set of CC 2 on his mk7 Golf GTI last year, he won't fit them again & will go back to a Pilot Sport once the CC 2 wear out.

Yeah they are NOT performance tyres, if he's used to PS4/5 then the CCs will feel like ice skates

TBH he should use the CCs when it's snowy and keep the PS for summer (The PS will feel like ice skates in the snow  )

Or learn to drift :naughty:

Recently changed stock Toyo Proxy 46R (shocking in wet) to Goodyear 4 Seasons Gen 3 225/55/19 99V and the car feels sure footed in all conditions / roads I drive on (lots of country lanes, covered in mud and leaves, ungritted in winter). This is on RAV4 2022 fwd.

Well done 👍

These tyres similar to their summers efficient grip performance 2 are technological marvel. They have so much innovation in their tread design and rubber compound, things that you need to dig in to see. You won’t be disappointed. They are not real winter tyres but they suit your car really well. Road noise will be vastly reduced too and now you may get surprised how your engine noise comes more pronounced into the cabin while under acceleration.
